About Moshe Rosenthal

Born in Holon 1985, at the age of 22 made his first full length independent film, "Rufus. The film was distributed by United King films.

During his studies he wrote and directed 2 shorts, “Clara’s Youth” and “The Cities of My Youth”, both participated in a variety of film festivals around the world.

 

Writer and director of Shabaton (18 min, 2016) won Best Director Award at Jerusalem FF, Best Short at Zlin FF.

His short, Our Way Back (26 min, 2018) was screened at BFI FF, nominated for the Israeli Academy Award 2018, and was theatrically released in Israel.

 

His web-series Confess (See Variety article) won several awards including the Grand Prix Award and Best Screenplay Award at the Marseille Web Fest and Best Director Award at the 2017 Sicily web fest. Recently Confess was sold for an American TV adaptation by AMC network, by academy award nominee July Delpy.

 

In 2018 Moshe participated in the Sam-Spiegel Jerusalem Film Lab, there he received a jury award for his screenplay Independence. Karaoke, his upcoming feature, won the Steve Tisch grant for first features, as well as the second prize in Jerusalem FF Pitch-point event.
